Salted Caramel & Chocolate Yellow Cake Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 11 ounce bag caramel bits
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Hershey bar
  • Kosher salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray an 8x8 baking pan. With a mixer, mix cake mix, egg and butter. Press 2/3 of the mixture into the pan. Bake 13 minutes and remove from oven to cool for a few minutes. Meanwhile mix the caramel bits with cream on the stove until melted. Stir in vanilla. Pour over crust. Shake salt over. Press broken Hershey pieces around evenly. Crumble the remaining batter over and bake 13-15 more minutes. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
